Following the sunset up from Tucson. Great Salt lake below.

Glacier in western Canada

Spruce forrest, as is essentially everything south of the Brooks range.

First glimpse of the pipeline, which would be with us the entire way.

One of the many little friends we made...and well, you know, killed.

And we're off...

Safety measure - if you can clear it, you won't injure the pipeline.

The "modules" are not actually bolted to the supports, but float on like linoleum skis, presumably so as to allow expansion/contraction, again, to not stress/injure the pipeline.

The Yukon River - she's big.

Some sort of willow - feels "cottony".

These white tufty flowers are everywhere.

Who's that handsome devil? Many people turn around at this point just to say they've been here - we've only just started.

Ok, so I have a college education. Let's see, if these guys fly, and suck my blood, all I have to do is...

...get them hammered!

This guy works for the state, but we had to give him bug spray, and he couldn't find his lug wrench.
